Testo Industrial Services stands apart with its flow rate laboratory with more than 950 m2 of space. From test bench design to software development – highly specialised flow rate experts with years of experience have developed the Testo Industrial Services’ flow rate laboratory with the highest level of expertise. The versatility of industrial flowmeters requires a wide range of test benches and calibrators. Seven specially designed liquid and gas calibrators guarantee you rapid calibration of different flow rates and substances.

Furthermore, the many years of experience of the entire Testo Group have enabled us to specialise in the calibration of velocity and volume flow meters. Highly specialised measuring methods ensure reliable measuring values during calibration.

In a wide variety of industries, flow measurements of liquids directly determine production operations and quality. Testo Industrial Services has its own four test facilities (piston calibrators), which enable calibration of flowmeters for liquids of 0.8 ml/min to 1,200 l/min. Our highly specialised experts do not calculate the viscosity of a medium, but generate the viscosity of your individually used liquid according to your requirements. This enables us to deliver reliable measurement results with a measurement uncertainty of up to 0.05% of m.v. In addition to water, the calibration can therefore also be carried out with alcohol or various oils, for example. All four liquid calibrators are based on the volumetric displacement principle with density measurement for conversion to mass flow.

Calibration of flowmeters for liquids in the laboratory flow - Testo Industrial Services

The determination of flow rates for air and inert gases plays a decisive role in many industrial sectors and is often used directly for quality assurance measures. Testo Industrial Services can calibrate your flowmeters for gases from approximately 1 ml/min to 15,000 l/min with a measurement uncertainty up to 0.22% of m.v. Two test benches with several Laminar Flow Elements (LFE) and a measuring range
of 1 ml/min to 1,000 l/min allow the calibration of flowmeters for air and inert gases. Several critical nozzles also cover a measuring range of 8 l/min to 15,000 l/min. The capillaries inside the individual elements ensure a laminar flow of the otherwise turbulent flow. A total of ten critical pneumatically driven nozzles are installed in the test facility for gas flowmeters. This enables the calibration of very small to very large flows at a pressure of up to 12 bar.

Calibration of flowmeters for air and gases in the laboratory flow - Testo Industrial Services

In a specially developed wind tunnel, Testo Industrial Services calibrates your velocity measurement instruments using the most accurate and reliable velocity measurement method with the help of the Laser Doppler Anemometry (LDA). This LDA measuring method is characterised by its non-contact and thus interference-free measurement, which means that a high measuring accuracy of the respective measured flow velocity can be guaranteed. Velocity probes of various designs can be calibrated in this tunnel from 0.1 to 68 m/s.

If technical gases, liquids or compressed air are used in companies, precise consumption measurement using various volumetric flow meters is indispensable. In another wind tunnel designed by Testo Industrial Services, volumetric flow meters are calibrated at up to 1800 m3/h.
