Proficiency test for the thermodynamic measurand: Radiation thermometer
Our next proficiency test in the field of thermodynamic measurands for a radiation thermometer is coming up. Don't miss the opportunity to compare your measurement method with other laboratories!
A radiation or infrared thermometer is sent as the calibration item. A surface or cavity radiator is to be used as the measuring device. Use in liquid baths is also possible. The deviation of the temperature at the following measuring points must be determined, provided these can be displayed:
- -18 °C
- 0 °C
- 100 °C
- 200 °C
- 350 °C
The assigned reference values are determined using the weighted average of all participant results from the accredited calibration laboratories. If this is not possible, the assigned values are determined as a reference value measurement in the pilot laboratory. The results are measured based on the En Value for the assigned value.
Timetable and procedure:
Expression of interest: by June 20, 2025
Planned start: August 2025
A summary of the proficiency test can be found in the following description.
Proficiency test for radiation thermometers
The proficiency test takes place in a ring, whereby a calibration is carried out in the pilot laboratory at least before and after the calibrations at the participants. Each participating laboratory has two calendar weeks to carry out the calibration and is responsible for the insured forwarding of the calibration items. An exact schedule will be sent to the participating laboratories before the start.
Are you interested in our next intercomparison? Then fill out the contact form below by June 20, 2025. We will then send you a non-binding offer. Participation is binding as soon as the offer has been accepted and an order confirmation has been sent.
Note: A minimum number of seven participating laboratories is required to carry out this interlaboratory comparison.
